Prof Stanley Madonsela

Professor Stanley Madonsela is an associate professor in the Department of African Languages at the University of South Africa. He has presented research papers in local and international conferences, and is a seasoned researcher who has published extensively on language policy and planning and other language related issues. Professor Madonsela’s other fields of interest are sociolinguistics, semantics, translation and court interpreting. Apart from his normal academic obligations, he is the Scientific Editor of a peer-reviewed journal which is accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), and has served on a number of language committees – such as deputy chairperson of the Gauteng Provincial Language Committee (GPLC).
